I love the U-bahn

Last night we all stayed up much too late. Breakfast was at the same time as yesterday. We made some sandwiches out of buffet bread, cold cuts, and cheese so we wouldn't have to take a trip to the supermarket since grocery stores by law are closed on Sundays and we were much too tired last night to go re-stock on food. As a new thing, each day is split up (morning and afternoon) and a group of two has to figure out public transportation and how to get from point a to b. Yesterday was rough, but we're starting to get the hang of it. We took the u-bahnhof to the museum centre and went to an ancient artifacts museum that had a lot of archeological items of interest. When we were done there, we had lunch in the garden. We also saw a cathedral from the outside. After that, we walked to the flee market to check out the stuff there. It wasn't a particularly big flee market, but there were stands with things you would never see in an American one (like old German antiques) so that was interesting. Next, we went to checkpoint Charlie, an Allied checkpoint between East and West. Everyone was pretty tired and unmotivated by then, but our chaperones convinced us to go to the Deutsches Film museum. We spent an hour there and the we were begging to go back to the hotel because we were so tired. We managed to find our way back and arrived at about 6:30. We realized we needed to get some fruit, but forgot that all the stores were closed, so we had a nice walk to the grocery store before turning around and walking straight back. We had a meeting in the lobby at 10 to fill out GAAP surveys about the trip and have some tea. We're all really tired, but still ready to keep exploring this beautiful city tomorrow!
