Long day

Today we spent the whole day working on our German American friendship project. Yuck. For the first two hours we split up into groups. Our group has the task of finding historically significant photos and explaining them (Americans have to speak in German at the presentation and vice versa). We then had a guest speaker who majored in drumming at the University of Kentucky come talk to us about the history of transatlantic policies. (Don't ask, I have no idea how he went from drumming to that...). His spiel went on for 2.5 hours then we had 1.5 hours to prepare another group presentation on a current issue concerning America and Germany. My group was talking about the conflict around the environment and fracking and the different approaches to it. Our group was the only group to present because nobody else wanted to (apparently the task wasn't very strictly enforced). Anyways, we figured out that presentation about 20 mins in to the allotted time for the project and lunch so then we went into trier to get dönner (at a different place than last time). I had falafel instead of meat, again. These places are everywhere in Germany! When we got back we presented and then had 2 more hours to work on the other presentation (it's confusing, I know). After school, Linda, Anna, Hannah (Anna's German exchange student) and I went shopping. I got some cool rings at a neat little handmade shop so that was cool. Then we got ice cream and then came home by train. By then, it was already 7 and we had dinner, showered up, then watched the first part of P.S. Ich Liebe Dich (P.S. I Love You, but in German).
